Jamshedpur, : The district administration has intensified its crackdown on illegal mining, transportation, and storage of minerals. Acting on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi, the District Mining Office carried out a special raid on the night of September 11, leading to major seizures.
During the operation, a huge cache of illegally stored sand was uncovered at Mouza Chandanpur under Shyamsunderpur Police Station area. Authorities seized approximately 10,500 Cft of sand and lodged an FIR at Shyamsunderpur Police Station against the offenders involved in the illegal storage.

In a parallel action, another raid was conducted near Kaju Bagan Bhalki More under Dhalbhumgarh Police Station area. Two Hyva trucks, bearing registration numbers JH05BZ-4154 and JH05CB-6407, were caught transporting sand illegally. Both trucks were seized on the spot, and FIRs were registered against the culprits at Dhalbhumgarh Police Station.
The district administration has reiterated its firm stand against illegal mining operations, stating that continuous monitoring and strict measures are being taken to prevent such unlawful activities. Authorities emphasized that anyone found guilty of illegal sand mining or transportation will face the strictest possible action.
Officials of the Mining Department further highlighted that protecting natural mineral resources and preventing revenue loss remains a top priority. Regular raids will continue to curb illegal sand trade. The administration also appealed to the public to report any information about illegal mining activities so that timely action can be taken.
This decisive move by the district administration has sent a strong message across the region — illegal mining will not be tolerated under any circumstances. More such raids and enforcement drives are expected in the coming days.
