Jamshedpur. Wednesday afternoon’s heavy downpour brought the city to a standstill, exposing once again the poor state of drainage and traffic management. The main road connecting Tatanagar railway station to Bistupur remained clogged for hours as waterlogging caused massive traffic jams. The situation worsened near Jugsalai Underbridge and Veer Kunwar Singh Chowk, where rainwater flooded the streets.

Amid the chaos, several parked vehicles were swept away by the gushing water. Locals, showing quick presence of mind, managed to pull one car to safety, but a Hyundai Santro was completely submerged after being dragged into a nearby drain.
The car owner said he had parked the vehicle in the lot and stepped away for some personal work. When he returned, he was shocked to see that his car had been washed away by the strong current and had sunk into the drain.
Local residents expressed frustration, claiming that this has become a recurring problem every monsoon. Despite repeated complaints, no permanent solution has been implemented, forcing people to face the same ordeal year after year.
