To ensure a safe, organized, and better travel experience for authorized passengers, the Bilaspur Division of the South East Central Railway (SECR) has launched a massive crackdown. A special “Naka Ticket Checking Campaign” is being strictly enforced across the division from May 21 to June 14, 2026. This extensive drive aims to promote the culture of traveling with valid tickets, effectively curb ticketless and irregular travel, and significantly boost railway revenue while ensuring a comfortable environment for genuine passengers.

Intensive Checking Led by Senior Officials
As part of this ongoing campaign, a rigorous ticket-checking operation was carried out at the Bilaspur Railway Station on June 11, 2026. The surprise drive was conducted under the expert guidance of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Anurag Kumar Singh and was spearheaded by Divisional Commercial Manager S. Bharathiyan and Assistant Commercial Manager D S Chauhan. A large team comprising Commercial Inspectors, Chief Ticket Inspectors, Traveling Ticket Examiners (TTEs), and Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel was deployed to block exits and meticulously check every passenger.

20 Trains Inspected, Fines Exceeding Rs 4.13 Lakh Recovered
During this high-intensity operation, checking staff thoroughly inspected the Bilaspur Station premises and 20 major trains passing through it. The railway authorities caught a total of 644 passengers violating railway travel rules, resulting in the on-the-spot recovery of Rs 4,13,970 in fines.
The detailed breakdown of the penal action is as follows:
Ticketless Travel: 380 cases were registered for traveling without a ticket, yielding a fine of Rs 2,87,515.
Irregular Tickets: 245 cases of passengers traveling with improper or irregular tickets were caught, resulting in a penalty of Rs 1,24,555.
Unbooked Luggage: 19 cases of carrying unbooked or overweight luggage were penalized, amounting to Rs 1,900.
Railway Administration’s Appeal to Passengers
Following this successful drive, the railway administration has issued a strong advisory and appeal to the general public. Authorities requested all passengers to purchase valid travel tickets before commencing their journey. Additionally, visitors coming to drop off relatives at the station must purchase a valid Platform Ticket before entering the premises. The administration also urged citizens to cooperate in keeping the trains and station premises clean, strictly warning against littering and smoking in railway areas.
