A special Public Grievance Redressal Day (Jan Shikayat Nivaran Divas) was organized at the Collectorate office in Jamshedpur to address and resolve the pressing issues of the general public. During this significant administrative program, District Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan personally interacted with citizens who had traveled from various urban and remote rural areas of the district. Taking immediate cognizance of the received applications, the Deputy Commissioner issued strict instructions to the concerned departmental officers to investigate the matters thoroughly and ensure prompt action in accordance with the law.

On-the-Spot Resolution: E-Tricycle Provided to a Disabled Citizen
The district administration displayed immense sensitivity and promptness during this grievance redressal session. Providing immediate assistance to a needy person with disabilities who had arrived at the Collectorate, the authorities arranged and handed over an e-tricycle on the spot. The immediate relief brought a visible smile to the beneficiary’s face. Additionally, several other urgent applications were resolved instantly due to the administration’s proactive approach, providing immediate relief to the applicants.
Key Public Issues Raised During the Session
Citizens from across the district presented a wide array of basic and administrative problems before the Deputy Commissioner. The primary applications received during the public hearing included:
Safe shifting of high-tension (HT) electrical wires passing over residential areas.
Approval of new houses under various government housing schemes.
Waiver of school fees for children from economically weaker sections.
Complaints regarding illegal occupation of private residences and threats to life and property.
Employment opportunities for youth and No Objection Certificates (NOC) for setting up petrol pumps.
Long-standing land disputes, shop allotments, and pending cases related to the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.
Furthermore, requests for financial assistance for a child’s eye treatment and applications linked to various social security and welfare schemes were also submitted.

Officials Instructed to Work with Sensitivity and Accountability
Considering the gravity of the public’s problems, Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan explicitly stated that the main objective of the Public Grievance Redressal Day is to find quick, transparent, and effective solutions to the everyday problems of the common man at the administrative level. He firmly instructed all present officials to dispose of public complaints with utmost sensitivity and accountability. Furthermore, he mandated the regular review of all pending cases across departments to ensure that no file is unnecessarily delayed, aiming for a highly responsive local governance system.
