In accordance with the strict guidelines of the state government, a massive special awareness campaign is being conducted in the East Singhbhum (Jamshedpur) district from June 10 to June 25, 2026. Aiming to build a completely drug-free society and to educate the general public, especially the youth, about the severe ill effects of substance abuse, District Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan flagged off a grand awareness chariot and a bike rally from the Collectorate premises. The flag-off ceremony was attended by several key administrative figures, including the Deputy Development Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner, and District Social Welfare Officer, who gathered to support this noble initiative.

Awareness Chariot to Cover Blocks, Panchayats, and Schools
The special awareness chariot launched by the Deputy Commissioner will travel extensively across various blocks, rural panchayats, urban areas, and prominent educational institutions throughout the district. Its primary objective is to educate the masses on the ground level about the severe consequences of drug addiction, its negative social and health impacts, and the various effective measures and rehabilitation options available for de-addiction. Reaching the grassroots level is the administration’s top priority.
Deputy Commissioner Administers Oath: Addiction Ruins Families
During the launch event, Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan administered a solemn oath to all present officials, youths, and citizens, pledging to stay entirely away from all forms of substance abuse. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized that addiction not only destroys an individual’s physical and mental health but also has a devastating and adverse effect on their entire family and society. He strongly appealed to the youth of Jamshedpur to steer clear of drugs and adopt a healthy, positive, and productive lifestyle. He also urged all responsible citizens to actively participate in this anti-drug campaign to make it a grand success.

Spreading the Message Through Audio and Promotional Materials
Over the course of this 15-day special drive, the awareness chariot will distribute a wide variety of informative promotional materials among the public. Through engaging audio messages, street plays, and interactive public awareness programs, the district administration will provide authentic and impactful information about the severe economic and physical harms caused by drug abuse, while simultaneously highlighting the countless benefits of living a peaceful, drug-free life.
