Jamshedpur. Shankar Kumar Jha, Chief Commercial Inspector (CCI) of Tatanagar Railway Station, has achieved a major career milestone. Through hard work and dedication, he has successfully cleared the Departmental Promotion Examination (DPC) conducted by the South Eastern Railway Zone and has been promoted to the prestigious post of Assistant Commercial Manager (ACM).
The result of the departmental examination was declared on Thursday by the South Eastern Railway authorities. Along with Jha, five other railway officials were also declared successful. After excelling in the subsequent departmental interview, Shankar Jha was officially selected for the ACM position.

Other successful candidates include Jagannath Hembrom (CTI, Rourkela, Chakradharpur Division), Tapan Kumar Mandal (CCI, Chakradharpur), Akash Mukhi (Commercial Instructor, Sini), Abhijit Biswas (CCI, Adra Division), and Himanshu Shekhar (CCI, Hatia).
According to sources, the examination was held on June 4 in Ranchi, with a large number of candidates participating from Chakradharpur, Ranchi, Adra, and Kharagpur divisions. Despite tough competition, Shankar Jha stood out with his experience, preparation, and dedication.
His promotion has not only brought pride to Tatanagar Station but also to the entire Chakradharpur Division. Notably, two other Chief Commercial Inspectors from Tatanagar had previously been promoted to ACM through the same departmental examination. With Jha’s selection, this marks the third time that a CCI from Tatanagar has reached the ACM post.
Senior railway officials and colleagues extended their congratulations, highlighting Jha’s vast work experience, professional skills, and commitment as key reasons behind his success. They expressed confidence that he will play a vital role in strengthening passenger services and boosting railway revenue in his new capacity.
Local railway employees and unions also welcomed the news, calling it an inspiration for others. They emphasized that success in such a competitive examination is not only a personal achievement but also enhances the reputation of the entire division.
