
Jamshedpur: On the occasion of World Tourism Day 2025, following the directives of the Tourism Director and under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi, the District Sports Office organized a series of programs across the district. Students actively participated in the various competitions and events.
On September 25, a trekking program for students was held, involving 40 participants from the NSS Unit and Mass Communication Department of Karim City College. Tanveer Khan secured first place, while Nisha came second. M.D. Sarfaraz was honored for his special contribution to the trekking guidelines.
On September 26, drawing and speech competitions were conducted at Karim City College. In the drawing competition, Shruti Mandal, Roshni Rani Shah, and Pooja Gorai were recognized for their outstanding performance. In the speech competition, Ayush Asthana won first place and Nandini Dutta secured second place.
On September 27, a cleanliness drive was organized at Burudih Dam, Ghatsila, with participation from the Burudih Dam Committee and tourism expert Manish Jonko. Participants were encouraged to maintain tourism sites as clean and well-kept, like their own homes.
During the closing ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi presented certificates of appreciation to the winners. District Sports Officer Rupa Rani Tirkey, Tourism Expert Manish Jonko, and other officials were also present.
The initiative aimed to raise tourism awareness among youth and provide a platform to showcase their creative talents, making the program a successful and inspiring event.
