Jamshedpur: The general assembly of the Tata Power Employees Union was held on Saturday at the Tata Power campus. The meeting began with a two-minute silence to pay tribute to departed union members. General Secretary Pintu Srivastava highlighted the union’s achievements and the latest developments regarding grade revision. Treasurer Mukesh Kumar presented the financial report, which was unanimously approved.

Union President Rakeshwar Pandey congratulated the employees on the favorable grade revision and formally announced the union elections. It is worth noting that a committee meeting of the union had been held earlier on July 16, 2025, where it was unanimously decided to conduct elections.
To oversee the election process, Vinod Kumar Rai, Vice President of Jharkhand INTUC, was appointed as the Election Officer. Following protocol, Rakeshwar Pandey recused himself from the proceedings and exited the assembly hall.
The election process was initiated by the Election Officer, who explained the co-option procedure. Pintu Srivastava proposed Rakeshwar Pandey’s name for the post of President, which received unanimous support with all members raising their hands. Pankaj Kumar Rai seconded the nomination, and Rakeshwar Pandey was officially declared elected as President for the 10th time.
Subsequently, the members unanimously entrusted the responsibility of forming the new committee to the re-elected President. The Election Officer thanked all members for their cooperation and concluded the election process.
