
Jamshedpur: Police have cracked the chain-snatching case that took place on July 15, 2025, in Sakchi police station area. Three accused – Shahbaz Sheikh alias Shabu, Sajid Bhogh alias Aman Billa, and Wasim Akbar alias Chandu – have been arrested. Police have also recovered the snatched gold chain and a black Bullet motorcycle used in the crime.

The complainant, Swarnali Kumari, reported that two bike-borne miscreants snatched a gold chain from her neck near Datta Decorator, Baradwari. Investigation revealed that Shahbaz and Sajid carried out the snatching and later sold the chain to Wasim Akbar alias Chandu for ₹11,000.
Based on a tip-off, police arrested Shahbaz and Sajid near Chepa Bridge. During interrogation, both confessed to the crime, and the stolen chain along with the bike was recovered. Following their lead, Wasim Akbar was also nabbed.
Criminal History of the Accused
Shahbaz Sheikh alias Shabu: Involved in a 2021 case under IPC 392 at Birsamnagar police station, and in 2024 under IPC 394 at Azadnagar police station.
Sajid Bhogh alias Aman Billa: Booked in 2021 under IPC 392 at Birsamnagar and Sakchi police stations, and in 2025 under BNS sections at Mango police station.

Police said the trio is part of a local gang involved in multiple snatching and robbery cases across Jamshedpur. Further investigation is underway to trace other possible accomplices.
