Jamshedpur: As part of its commitment towards planting a sapling for each participant of Tata Steel Virtual Run (TSVR), a mass plantation drive was organised by Tata Steel at Marine Drive (Miyawaki Forest Site, near New Bridge) in Jamshedpur. 2500 Miyawaki saplings were planted, which serve as a token of gratitude towards the participants of the run.
Mr Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, graced the occasion along with the officials of Tata Steel and Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited (TSUISL). Mr Chaudhary applauded for keeping the commitment of planting a sapling for each participants of the run. He congratulated and thanked the runners of TSVR for their enthusiastic participation in the run, promoting the cause of environment and climate change, ensuring greener tomorrow.
Tata Steel had organised the first-ever Virtual Run on November 22, 2020. 2440 participants took part in this unique run across India. The event was organised under three categories: 5K for boys and girls of 12 – 16 years, and 7K and 10 K for men and women of 16 years & above.
To imbibe the culture of fitness among stakeholders, Sports Department of Tata Steel wishes to organise such similar events in the future, and hope that next year the event brings more success.
