Jamshedpur, November 23: Tata Main Hospital (TMH) now bring services to your doorstep. TMH today launched online video consultation and home delivery of medicines for patients who cannot travel to the hospital.
The new services were jointly inaugurated by Mr Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President CorporateServices, Tata Steel and Mr R Ravi Prasad, President Tata Workers` Union through a virtual platform. The launch programme was virtually attended by Dr Rajan Chaudhry, Advisor Medical Services, Dr Sudhir Rai, GM Medical Services, senior executives of Tata Steel, office bearers of Tata Workers` Union, senior doctors of TMH and the One IT team of Tata Steel who worked closely with TMH to introduce these services.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Chanakya Chaudhary said that the newly introduced services would greatly benefit the patients, especially senior citizens, who can consult the doctors through video consultation and subsequently get the prescribed medicines home delivered without having to visit the hospital.
Mr R Ravi Prasad congratulated the Medical Services and the One IT team for developing and delivering solutions based on patient’s expectations. Dr Sudhir Rai said that the Medical Services will continue to leverage technology to improve its services and focus on patient`s convenience and patient centric care.
The online video consultation service would allow the patients to consult the doctors from the comfort of their home or office and eliminate the need for travel and save time in indicated cases. It would benefit patients to preferably utilise video consultation for repeat consultation, revaluation and follow-up. The online video consultation being a premium facility being introduced at TMH, will be available as a paid facility for all patients.
Online video consultation service can only be booked through the TMH Vishwas portal through online payment and the patients would receive the video links on the email address confirmed by them at the time of booking. The rates for regular and video consultations for patients would range from Rs 400 to Rs 750 depending upon the specialists or super specialists they want to consult.
Initially, 14 super-speciality doctors will be available for video consultations as per the schedule below. These video consultation slots will be in addition to their regular OPD commitments during day OPD in TMH.

The home delivery of medicines for entitled patients of Tata Steel as a paid facility will greatly benefit those patients who do not travel to the hospital or clinics and avail telephonic or video consultation service. This service can also be utilized for patients who have been advised an additional month of repeat medicines which must be collected after one month. The patients will have to request for the home delivery of their advised medicines through the TMH Vishwas portal (available on Play Store or through the TMH website https://www.tatamainhospital.com/). The service will be available as a paid facility and patients will be charged Rs.130/- for each delivery of medicines from TMH.
