Saraikela-Kharsawan।
The district administration of Seraikela-Kharsawan continues its proactive approach to addressing the daily issues of its citizens. On June 12, 2026, a massive weekly ‘Janta Darbar’ (Public Grievance Redressal Camp) was organized at the Collectorate office under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Nitish Kumar Singh. A large number of common citizens from various remote blocks and rural panchayats across the district reached the headquarters to present their grievances, demands, and pending applications directly before the Deputy Commissioner.

Face-to-Face Interaction and On-the-Spot Resolutions
During the intensive Janta Darbar session, DC Nitish Kumar Singh personally met with every single complainant in a systematic and orderly manner. He listened to their problems with immense patience and took immediate cognizance of the submitted applications. Showing great administrative agility, several complex issues were resolved right on the spot, with the Deputy Commissioner issuing strict on-the-spot directives to the concerned departmental officials. For matters that required detailed investigation, the applications were forwarded to the respective departments with a strict mandate for time-bound and quality resolution.
Major Issues Raised: Land Disputes, Encroachment, and Civic Amenities
This week’s public hearing witnessed a wide variety of serious civic and administrative complaints. A prominent issue was reported from the Adityapur block, where a son was found forcefully occupying land legally sold by his father and demanding illegal extortion money. Apart from this, local residents heavily pressed for the continuation of the anti-encroachment drive in the Adityapur area and raised the long-standing problem of drinking water supply.
Other significant complaints included a dispute regarding the selection of a ‘Sevika’ in the Hamsada area of Chandil block, demands for compassionate ground appointments, and complaints against contractors for paying wages below the departmentally prescribed rates. Citizens also submitted applications regarding the construction of new PCC roads, repair of damaged roads, health, education, ration cards, and various pension schemes.
