
JAMSHEDPUR NEWS – In a major breakthrough, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the brutal murder of Karni Sena leader Himanshu Singh has arrested two more accused. City Superintendent of Police Lalit Meena shared these details during a press conference on Wednesday, marking a crucial step forward in the high-profile investigation.


Key Arrests and Surrender in Bistupur
The newly arrested individuals have been identified as Raghavendra Kumar, alias Ravindra, alias Ghere (40), and Ganesh Machua. Raghavendra had surrendered at the Bistupur police station on Monday and was formally placed under arrest on Wednesday.
According to the police, Ganesh Machua—who has a prior criminal record and has been jailed twice under the Excise Act—was arrested for providing critical logistical support and helping the prime accused evade law enforcement.

Total Arrests Rise to 16 as Key Suspects Taken on Remand
With these two fresh arrests, the total number of people apprehended in connection with the murder has reached 16. Previously, the SIT had arrested 14 accused named in the FIR, including the prime suspect Vishwanath Lohra, alias Bodra, and Niraj Singh, the owner of Double Down Bar and a BJP Jharkhand Trade Cell Convenor.
To unearth the larger conspiracy, the court has granted the SIT police remand to interrogate prime suspects Bodra and Niraj Singh. Police have also successfully recovered the scooty used by the accused to flee the crime scene.
The Horrific June 27 Incident
The case dates back to the night of June 27, when a brawl broke out inside the Double Down Bar in Bistupur. The altercation quickly escalated outside the venue. In a shocking display of violence, the perpetrators allegedly dragged 28-year-old Himanshu Singh and his friend Pratiyush Singh out of a police patrolling vehicle.

The assailants brutally attacked them with a cleaver and an axe in full view of police officials. While Himanshu Singh tragically succumbed to his injuries two days later at Tata Main Hospital (TMH), Pratiyush Singh continues to battle for his life.
