Jamshedpur: The 29th East Zone Sport Climbing Championship 2025 started today at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, hosted by the Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF) Sport Climbing Academy. Around 125 athletes from Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, and West Bengal are taking part in this four-day event.
Day 1 Results – Junior Speed Finals
On the first day, the finals of the Speed discipline were held for Junior Boys and Girls. All the winners came from the TSAF Sport Climbing Academy, Jamshedpur.
Junior Boys:
- 1st Place – Bhoj Birua
- 2nd Place – Rajesh Honhaga
- 3rd Place – Sudharshan Murmu
Junior Girls:
- 1st Place – Savitri Samad
- 2nd Place – Laxmi Tamang
- 3rd Place – Basanti Murmu
Opening Ceremony in the Evening
The opening ceremony took place at 5:00 PM.
- Chief Guest: Hemant Gupta, Head – TSAF and Sports Academies
- Special Guests: Debdas Dutta (Advisor, Mountaineering, Govt. of West Bengal)
- Rajiv Kumar Gupta (Founder & Director, I3 Foundation),
- Roshan Jha (GST), and Debraj Dutta (Chairman, IMF East Zone).
The championship will continue with exciting events in Lead, Speed, and Boulder disciplines.
