Jamshedpur: The Department of Neurosurgery at Tata Main Hospital (TMH) successfully organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme followed by a hands-on workshop on “Endovascular Management of Neurovascular Pathologies: A Practical Approach” on July 18, 2026. The academic event brought together medical professionals from various specialties to deliberate on recent advances in the minimally invasive treatment of complex neurovascular diseases.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr Vinita Singh, General Manager Medical Services, in the presence of senior hospital leadership, including Dr Ashok Sunder, Chief of Medical Indoor Services; Dr Mamta Rath Dutta, Chief of Medical Support Services and Dr Jeevesh Mallik, Head, Department of Neurosurgery, along with departmental heads, consultants, faculty members and healthcare professionals from Tata Main Hospital.
The keynote sessions and hands-on workshop were conducted by Dr Peeyush Tomar, a noted neuro-interventionist from New Delhi. Through interactive lectures and practical demonstrations, participants gained valuable insights into the latest techniques and technologies used in the endovascular management of neurovascular disorders.
The CME focused on the evolving role of endovascular interventions in the treatment of conditions such as intracranial aneurysms, acute ischemic stroke, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), and dural and spinal arteriovenous fistulas (AVFs). Experts highlighted the importance of early diagnosis, timely referral, multidisciplinary collaboration and evidence-based management in improving patient outcomes and advancing standards of care.
The hands-on workshop offered participants an opportunity to familiarize themselves with various endovascular devices and procedures. The training covered procedural planning, catheter and guidewire handling, and simulation-based techniques under expert guidance, enabling participants to enhance their practical understanding of contemporary neuro-interventional approaches.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the medical fraternity, with the CME attended by more than 70 doctors and the hands-on workshop attended by 40 doctors representing multiple specialties.
Through initiatives such as this, Tata Main Hospital continues to strengthen medical education, foster knowledge exchange among healthcare professionals, and take meaningful steps towards introducing advanced endovascular neuro-interventional procedures in the near future.
