Jamshedpur:
The district administration of East Singhbhum has begun extensive preparations for the proposed visit of the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, to the district. In this connection, a high-level review meeting was held at the Collectorate Conference Hall in Jamshedpur under the chairmanship of District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Shri Karn Satyarthi, during which senior officials of all concerned departments were issued necessary directions.

During the meeting, a detailed review was conducted of security arrangements, traffic management, civic amenities and other logistical preparations at key locations, including Sonari Airport, Karandih Jaher Sthan, and other proposed programme venues. The Deputy Commissioner directed officials to ensure that all arrangements—from the President’s arrival to departure—are seamless, well-coordinated and completely error-free.
Emphasising effective traffic management, the Deputy Commissioner instructed officials to prepare a comprehensive traffic plan, including alternative routes, parking arrangements and smooth movement of the general public. He stressed that special care must be taken to minimise inconvenience to citizens during the President’s programme.
Highlighting that security is of paramount importance, Shri Satyarthi directed all concerned agencies to work in close coordination. He instructed officials to ensure proper barricading, CCTV surveillance, pass systems and emergency preparedness at all programme venues and along movement routes.
Special emphasis was also laid on cleanliness and beautification. The Deputy Commissioner directed that sanitation, lighting, decoration and necessary repair works at the airport, programme venues and along the routes be completed well in advance to present the district in the best possible manner.
The Health Department was instructed to ensure the availability of ambulances, medical teams and first-aid facilities. The Fire Services Department was directed to strictly comply with all fire safety norms. Departments related to electricity, drinking water supply, urban local bodies and public works were asked to ensure uninterrupted essential services during the President’s visit.
Addressing officials, the Deputy Commissioner said that the visit of the Hon’ble President is a matter of pride for the district, and all departments must work with mutual coordination, dedication and adherence to timelines to ensure that the programme is conducted smoothly and with due dignity.
Officials from the district administration, airport management, municipal corporation, health department, road construction, electricity and other concerned departments were present in the meeting.
