The East Singhbhum District Administration has issued a public alert after receiving reports of cyber fraud involving the impersonation of Deputy Commissioner Mr. Karn Satyarthi on WhatsApp. Fraudsters are allegedly using his profile photo and name to demand money from unsuspecting citizens.
According to official sources, unknown individuals have created fake WhatsApp accounts using the DC’s image and are sending messages to people, pressuring them to transfer funds under false pretenses.

Terming this act as a planned cyber fraud, the district administration has urged citizens not to fall prey to such scams. People are advised not to share personal details, click on unknown links, or transfer any money to suspicious numbers.
The administration emphasized that no government official will ever ask for money or personal financial information through WhatsApp or any unofficial channel. Any such request should be immediately reported to the local police or cybercrime unit.

District officials are also working closely with cybersecurity authorities to track the culprits and take legal action under relevant cyber laws.
