Jamshedpur—The Inter Union Sports Tournament, an initiative of the Sports Advisory Committee – a joint body of Tata Steel and Tata Workers’ Union – concluded at the JRD Tata Sports Complex after three days of spirited competition and enthusiastic participation.

Launched in 2013, the tournament has grown into a recurring platform that brings together Tata Group unions from across Jamshedpur and Raw Materials locations, along with a special invitee team from Tata Steel’s Wire Division, Mumbai. Organised by the Tata Steel Sports Department, the tournament reflects Tata Steel’s continued commitment to employee well-being and to fostering health, fitness and camaraderie among union committee members and office bearers.
This year’s edition, held from December 8–10, recorded an inspiring turnout with 15 union teams and nearly 250 participants competing across three disciplines — Handball, Volleyball and Badminton. The event also recognised the contributions of 3 officials and 19 observers, who were felicitated during the closing ceremony.
The valedictory function was graced by Mr. Sandeep Kumar, VP Raw Materials, Tata Steel, as the Chief Guest, and Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Choudhary, President, Tata Workers’ Union, as the Guest of Honour. They were joined by Mr. Mukul Vinayak Choudhary, Chief Sports, Tata Steel; Capt. Manish Sinha, Head Sports (Events & Training Centre), Tata Steel; Mr. Shailesh Singh, Deputy President, Tata Workers’ Union; Mr. B.K. Dinda, President, Tata Kamgar Union; Mr. R.K. Singh, General Secretary, Tata Motors Workers’ Union; Mr. Shashi Bhusan, President, Tata Motors Workers’ Union; and Mr. Mohan Mahato, President, West Bokaro Union.
