
Jamshedpur: The district administration has completely tightened its noose on the sand and stone mafias operating in the East Singhbhum district. Following strict instructions from the Deputy Commissioner, extensive actions are being taken across the district to curb illegal mining, transportation, and storage. In this sequence, on May 26, 2026, the District Mining Office, East Singhbhum, conducted an intensive and secret raid at various locations under the Baharagora circle, creating massive panic among the sand mafias.

Major Action Near Polytechnic College
According to the information received, the district mining department team was constantly receiving secret tips regarding the illegal transportation of sand in the area. Acting on this, the team systematically laid a trap near the Polytechnic College at Jharia More in the Baharagora circle. The sudden raid left the vehicle drivers and mafias with absolutely no chance to escape or recover.
4 Heavy Vehicles Seized for Transporting Sand Without Valid Challan
During the raid, the mining department’s investigation team caught several vehicles illegally transporting huge quantities of sand from the spot. Upon inspection, it was found that none of the vehicles possessed a valid transport challan. The team immediately seized three large Hyva trucks and one tractor. The registration numbers of the three seized Hyvas are WB29C4476, WB13E8634, and WB29C4276. These vehicles were being actively used for large-scale illegal sand smuggling.

Vehicles Handed Over to Baharagora Police Station, Strict Warning Issued
After completing the due legal formalities, the District Mining Office handed over all the seized sand-laden vehicles to the Baharagora Station In-charge. The police will now proceed with the FIR and further legal investigations. Meanwhile, the district administration and the mining department have issued a stern warning that anyone found involved in illegal mining, transportation, and storage within the district limits will not be spared under any circumstances. This strict and continuous action by the administration will carry on to prevent the loot of natural resources.
