Jamshedpur News : Tata Steel Celebrated Sustainability Month Closing Ceremony with ‘Satva- Resonance of Life’ Event

Jamshedpur: Tata Steel organised an event “Satva- Resonance of Life’ to mark the end of the Sustainability Month. The event was organised today at Fasy Auditorium, Loyola School, Jamshedpur. Renowned musician and 3 times Grammy Award winner, Ricky Kej, and Project Chhauni, known for their Mayurbhanj Chhau dance were the main attractions of the event. Rajiv Mangal, Vice President (Safety, Health & Sustainability), Tata Steel graced the occasion as the Chief Guest while Shailesh Kumar Singh, Deputy President, Tata Workers Union graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.

 

The event began with the performance of Ricky Kej and his troupe. Ricky, a Grammy award winner, and a renowned environmentalist presented his compositions, which were based on the essence of sustainability and conservation of the environment. His performance was followed by a panel discussion, which also included Subhoshree Mukherjee, the founder of Project Chhauni. Ricky and Subhoshree shared their views and personal stories on the importance of sustainability and how they have combined their passion for music and dance respectively to spread awareness on issues related to the environment. The event concluded with a Chhau dance performance by Project Chhauni. The event witnessed a participation of over 1000 people including school students, employees of Tata Steel and group companies and several esteemed guests from the community.

 

 June month is celebrated as sustainability month across all Tata Group companies to spread awareness about sustainability. Tata Steel had organised several activities and sessions throughout the month for its employees and the community. The theme for this year was “Adopting Sustainable Lifestyle”. The closing event titled ‘Satva- Resonance of Life’ was organised in line with this theme to instil the importance of balance and harmony for sustainable existence among the citizens of Jamshedpur.
