Chakulia (East Singhbhum): In a major breakthrough, Chakulia Police in East Singhbhum district, in collaboration with Rayagada Police, have seized a large quantity of silver and gold-like ornaments. One woman has been arrested in connection with the case.
The joint raid was carried out as part of the investigation into Rayagada P.S. Case No. 224/2025, where CCTV footage had revealed the involvement of a woman suspect. Rural Superintendent of Police, Rishabh Garg, disclosed the details at a press conference held in Sakchi on Saturday.

Joint Raid and Recovery
The police team, led by Chakulia Police Station In-Charge P.A.N.I. Santosh Kumar and supported by Rayagada Police, first searched the residence of one Neha Sabar in Bajpai Nagar’s Gulgulia Pada area. A silver-like plate was recovered from there.
Subsequently, the team searched the adjacent residence of Geeta Sabar, where a box containing a significant amount of silver and gold-like jewellery was recovered, along with other suspicious items.

Arrested Accused:
The arrested individual has been identified as Geeta Sabar, wife of Pardesiya Sabar alias Deepak Sabar, a resident of Bajpai Nagar, Gulgulia Pada, under Chakulia Police Station.
According to the police, Geeta Sabar failed to produce any valid documentation for the ornaments, leading to her arrest. The investigation is ongoing to trace other individuals possibly involved in the case.
Further Investigation Underway
Rural SP Rishabh Garg confirmed that further investigation is in progress and efforts are being made to arrest others connected to the case. Police suspect the items may be linked to larger inter-state theft or smuggling networks.
