Jamshedpur:
In a significant step toward academic and research collaboration, Jamshedpur Women’s University (JWU) and Manipal Tata Medical College (a constituent unit of Manipal Academy of Higher Education – MAHE) formally exchanged the documents of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today. The event took place at the JWU campus in the presence of senior officials and faculty members from both institutions.
The ceremony was presided over by Prof. Dr. Anjila Gupta, Vice Chancellor of Jamshedpur Women’s University. Also present were Prof. Dr. Pradeep Kumar, former Dean and Advisor of Manipal Tata Medical College, and Prof. Dr. Harish Chandra Bandhu, current Dean of the OBG Department at MTMC, along with a team of senior professors and administrators.
Dr. Anjila Gupta extended her best wishes to both institutions and termed the MoU a milestone in interdisciplinary academic collaboration. She emphasized that the partnership would pave the way for faculty exchange programs, joint research initiatives, and community outreach activities that benefit both students and society.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Pradeep Kumar and Prof. Harish Chandra Bandhu congratulated the universities and stressed the importance of such collaborations in advancing educational innovation, research excellence, and public health engagement.
The MoU is expected to create opportunities for interdisciplinary exposure and capacity building through shared resources and expertise. It will also encourage participation in joint seminars, academic workshops, internships, and health awareness programs, contributing to both academic and community development.
Among the attendees were key university officials and faculty members such as Dr. Rajendra Kumar Jaiswal (Registrar), Dr. Rama Subrahmanyan (Exam Controller and Head of Home Science Department), Prof. Syed Irfan Ali (Head, Community Medicine), Prof. Zarina Begum, Dr. Swati Shikha (Associate Professor, Community Medicine) from MTMC.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Ratna Mitra, Director of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of JWU. The event was also attended by faculty members including Dr. Saloni Kujur, Dr. Annapurna Jha, Dr. Kamini, Dr. Amrita Kumari, Dr. Pushpa Kumari, Dr. Sanatan Deep, Dr. Pushpalata, and Mrs. Sanchita Guha.
This MoU is expected to mark the beginning of a dynamic partnership that fosters academic excellence, social responsibility, and innovation in higher education.
