In a major relief and a moment of joy for the residents of the city, the highly anticipated Birsanagar Affordable Housing Project under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) has been officially launched. With the grand inauguration of this mega residential project, the dream of owning a concrete house has finally come true for hundreds of families.

Grand Inauguration via Video Conferencing
Jharkhand’s Urban Development and Housing Department Minister, Sudivya Kumar, inaugurated the Birsanagar Affordable Housing Project online through video conferencing from Ranchi. Joining him virtually from the capital were the Secretary of the Urban Development and Housing Department, the Director of Municipal Administration, and the SUDA Director. Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy also participated in this special occasion via online mode.
322 Beneficiaries Receive Keys and Perform Griha Pravesh
Under this massive project in Birsanagar, two large residential blocks comprising a total of 644 flats have been constructed. During the inaugural ceremony, symbolic keys and allotment letters were handed over to 322 lucky beneficiaries. More than 1,000 people, including beneficiaries and their families, attended the event.
Present at the venue were Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato, Jamshedpur East MLA Purnima Sahu, Municipal Commissioner Yogendra Prasad, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar, and several officials and staff members of the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC). The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm as beneficiaries immediately performed traditional Griha Pravesh and prayers in their newly allotted flats, expressing deep gratitude to both the central and state governments.
Tree Plantation Drive for Environmental Conservation
Following the handover ceremony, MP Bidyut Baran Mahato and MLA Purnima Sahu led a tree plantation drive within the project premises. Delivering a strong message of a green and clean Jamshedpur, they urged the citizens to plant more trees and protect the environment. This initiative aims to make the newly built residential complex eco-friendly, clean, and beautiful.
Addressing the gathering, the minister and public representatives emphasized that the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) is a historic initiative aimed at providing safe, respectable, and concrete housing to the economically weaker sections of society. The Birsanagar Affordable Housing Project will not only provide a roof over the heads of the homeless but will also bring a positive transformation in the living standards of thousands. This project stands as a milestone in Jamshedpur’s urban development, strongly reflecting the government’s unwavering commitment to the “Housing for All” resolution.
