Adir Fellowship: Shaping a New Leader
Ritu’s journey toward social impact began with the Adir Fellowship, an initiative by People for Change led by Souvik Saha. This fellowship selects 20 young individuals annually (aged 18-25) to transform them into social changemakers. Through this training, Ritu gained the leadership skills necessary to identify the digital divide in her community and take action.
Breaking the “Tech Fear” with Innovation
Initially, many women and girls in Birsanagar viewed computers with hesitation and fear. To counter this, Ritu moved away from traditional teaching methods. She introduced interactive games and creative tools to make learning fun. Under Project Shiksha, she received support with laptops and resources, allowing her to turn a small initiative into a formal digital literacy classroom.
