A deadly attack and robbery attempt took place late at night near the TRF Company under the Burmamines police station area in Jamshedpur. Armed miscreants attempted to loot a truck driver, and upon facing resistance, they attacked him with sharp weapons, leaving him severely injured. However, the brave driver managed to escape, foiling the robbers’ plans.

Incident Details: Attackers Arrived with Pistol and Chopper
According to the information, the injured driver has been identified as Jai Prakash Rajak, a resident of Birgram in West Bengal. He drives a truck (OD 09 A 3243) for Munna Jha Transport. The incident occurred between 1:30 AM and 2:00 AM on the night of June 30. Jai Prakash was standing near his truck when three unidentified youths arrived in a vehicle. Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers were armed with a pistol and a chopper (cleaver).
Driver Showed Courage, Resisted the Loot
The criminals threatened the driver and demanded his mobile phone and cash. Instead of surrendering, Jai Prakash resisted the robbery and tried to defend himself. Angered by his resistance, the attackers repeatedly struck him with sharp weapons. The driver sustained multiple severe injuries on his body and started bleeding heavily. Despite being badly wounded, he did not lose courage and somehow managed to flee the spot to save his life.
Burmamines Police Patrol Rescues the Victim
While the injured driver was trying to escape, the Burmamines police station patrol team spotted him during their routine night vigil. The police immediately took him in their vehicle and rushed him to Sadar Hospital for primary medical treatment. Doctors have stated that his condition is currently out of danger.
Driver Union Protests, Demands Stricter Night Security
As soon as the news of the incident spread, a large number of truck drivers and Driver Union members reached the Burmamines police station on Tuesday morning. The union representatives submitted a memorandum to the police, demanding the immediate arrest of the culprits, enhanced security for truck drivers at night, regular police patrolling, and strengthened security measures in sensitive areas.
Investigation Underway, Police Scanning CCTV Footage
The Burmamines police are taking the matter very seriously and have launched a thorough investigation. Authorities are scanning the CCTV footage installed at and around the crime scene. Police officials have stated that continuous raids are being conducted to identify and arrest the attackers, and the case will be solved very soon.
