Such alternative government minus Congress is a possibility and if required, I will extend an unconditional support to feasible government, JD(U) MLA from Jamshedpur West constituency said.
It would not be appropriate to comment on BJP, as it is the main opposition party in the state assembly, a former Jharkhand Minister said.
Justifying his suggestion in this regard, Roy elaborated that currently JMM has strength with 34 MLAs in the state assembly followed by four from RJD, two CPI (ML), taking the figure to 40 while 41 MLAs needed to prove majority in the 81 seat assembly.
If required, I will extended unconditional support in such scenario, he said adding some more legislators would come from here and there to support the government, if materialized.
Currently, the government was functioning minus BJP (in opposition) and it could also run without Congress as well, he claimed.
I had already told CM and even now stick to it. However, Soren will have to take the initiative in this regard, NDA’s coalition partner JD(U)’s leader said.
Such a government will function hassle-free and implement it priorities without pressure from national parties, he claimed.
Considering the recent bitter attacks on each other between JMM and its major ally Congress, Roy said he had expressed the feasibility of a government without the support of Congress and BJP.
Besides, coalition partners RJD and Congress did not maintain the coalition dharma and denied seats to JMM in recently held Bihar and ensuing Assam assembly polls.
Recently, AICC In-Charge of Jharkhand K Raju had accused the government officials in the state of working under the pressure of Mafias and JMM countered the allegation describing Congress as “poisonous snake”, Roy said.
Asked whether about the possibility of any alteration in the present dispensation in the state following Assam poll, Roy said no one say anything about such possibility with confidence.
Elaborating further, Roy said it was also possible that JMM and Congress will come together again post-Assam assembly and agreed to run the government, claiming that they have resolved all their differences.
Admitting that the credibility of the ruling coalition government dainted, JD(U) leader said it was difficult to predict on the stance of JMM and Congress. I have just suggested Soren that a majority government minus Congress and BJP could be feasible in Jharkhand.
