Jamshedpur MP Shri Bidyut Baran Mahato met with South Eastern Railway’s ADRM Ms. Manisha Goyal on Friday to discuss several pressing railway-related issues in his constituency. The meeting focused on improving train services, expanding facilities, and addressing public grievances related to local railway infrastructure.

Increase frequency of Shalimar–Gorakhpur Express

Halt of Shalimar–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express at Rakhamines

Halt of Kriya Yoga Howrah–Hatia Express at Chakulia

Tata Steel Chess Team Clinches Title at SPSB Chess Championship 2025

Proposed New Services and Train Extensions:

Launch Tata–Ara Superfast Express from Chakulia or Ghatshila

Extend Tata–Godda Weekly Express up to Ghatshila

Resume Kalimat Express (Howrah–Purulia, 3 days/week)

Restart Birsa Munda Express (Jhargram–Purulia, 3 days/week)

Start Asansol–Gonda Weekly Express from Tatanagar

Railway Station Development Requests:

Extend reservation counter hours at Ghatshila

Introduce a new train between Tatanagar and Digha

Resume Kharagpur–Tata Local train

Construct Road Under Bridges (RUBs) between Chakulia–Kokpada and at Kanimahuli station

SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY:Several Trains Cancelled, Diverted, or Short-Terminated Due to Yard Remodelling in Chakradharpur Division

Infrastructure & Drainage Demands:

Build a Foot Over Bridge (FOB) at Dhalbhumgarh Railway Station

Extend newly built FOB at Galudih station toward the southern end

Redesign and expedite construction of ROB near Gate No. 123 (Kutludih) between Ghatshila and Galudih

Improve drainage systems at Chakulia and Kashida underpasses

Construct FOB near Naya Bazar–Old Bazar railway gate in Chakulia

Build FOB at LC 121 Gopalpur crossing and resolve waterlogging there

Tata Steel Champions Circular Economy by Using Ferrochrome Slag Chips in Road Construction and Ferroalloy Production  

Railway Officials Assure Action

MP Mahato emphasized the urgency of addressing these issues, citing public demand and safety concerns. The ADRM assured him that each of the requests will be evaluated and processed as per feasibility and priority.
