Jamshedpur : Tata Steel’s Chess team has emerged victorious at the prestigious Steel Plant Sports Board (SPSB) Chess Championship held in Bhilai from July 1 to 3, 2025. The tournament saw participation from a total of nine steel plants across the country and was hosted by Bhilai Steel Plant.
Demonstrating exceptional skill and teamwork, the Tata Steel team outperformed strong contenders from leading steel companies to secure the top position in the championship.
The participating steel plants included: IISCO Burnpur, Rastriya Ispat Nigam Ltd., Rourkela Steel Plant, Durgapur Steel Plant, Bhilai Steel Plant, JSW, Salem Steel Plant and Visvesvaraya Iron & Steel Plant.
Tata Steel’s win at this national-level tournament reflects the company’s commitment to promoting sporting excellence and nurturing talent within the organization.
