Purnea: A major accident occurred on Friday morning on the Katihar–Jogbani rail section. Near Kasba Jabanpur, three people were killed after being hit by the Vande Bharat Express train, while two others sustained serious injuries. The injured were admitted to Purnea Government Medical College Hospital.
According to reports, the victims were returning after attending a Dussehra fair when the accident took place. The Vande Bharat train was on its way from Jogbani (Araria) to Danapur (Patna). The incident triggered panic, and a large crowd gathered at the spot.
On receiving the information, local police and the RPF team reached the site. Police are trying to pacify the agitated locals.
