
Jamshedpur June 29, 2019: The Sports Department of Tata Steel has started a new initiative in 2019 for the parents of the children of different training centers from this year known as Sports Events for Waiting Parents with the motive to “Be Healthy – Be Happy”.
The selected events decided for them include Bicycle Race, Athletics, Basketball, Badminton, Carrom, Dart, Kho Kho, Lagodi (Pitto), Table Tennis, Tennis Ball Cricket, Throwball and Water Sports.
Till now 14 Teams have been formed by the parents and named as Koshi, Mahanadi, Subarnrekha, Gomti, Narmada, Kaveri, Ganga, Damodar, Godavari, Hooghly, Jhelum, Yamuna, Brahmaputra and Tapti. Each team consists of 8 lady members (Mothers of trainees). Every month one event has been planned for them and prizes and rolling trophies will be awarded to the winners, runners and those placed in 3rd positions.
As part of the selected events, the third event which concluded yesterday was Dart Throw at office Block, JRD Tata Sports Complex from 4.30 PM onwards. This event featured for the first time. A total of 14 teams participated in it which had 112 ladies participants. The detailed results are as follows:

Group A
- Jhelum beat Tapti by 150 – 40 points in quarter final.
- Ganga beat Koshi by 90 – 65 points.
- Ganga beat Yamuna 125 – 95 points in Quarter final

Group B
- Mahanadi beat Kaveri by 130 – 70 points in quarter final.
Semi Final
Jhelum beat Ganga by 285 – 170 points
Godavari beat Mahanadi by 135 to 130 points
For 3rd place
Ganga beat Mahanadi by 205 – 125 points
Final
Godavari beat Jhelum by 155 – 130 points.
Ms. Renu Bhaduriya, Lady fitness in-charge of Sports Department distributed the prizes to the winners. Avinash Kumar, Sr. Manager Sports conducted the entire events and was supported by his team members Ms. Renu. Ms. Punam, Ms. Kuntala, Surya Sinha; B K Jena; Goswami; Arun Sinha and Shahid.
Mr. Surya Sinha, Shahid and Goswami had officiated the entire games today.
