Jamshedpur, July 29, 2025: As part of the 121st Birth Anniversary Celebration of Bharat Ratna JRD Tata, an inter-school quiz competition was organised by Tata Steel at Michael John Auditorium this morning.
Mrs Parul Mangal graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion Mrs Parul Mangal said that the legacy of JRD Tata is not only confined to Jamshedpur. For decades, he worked towards excellence, ethics and nation building. JRD Tata was much more than an industrialist as he emphasised sustainable development and supported the cause of education. For him progress was always about igniting curiosity, nurturing talent and enabling young minds. The JRD Tata Annual Inter-School Quiz Competition provides an excellent platform for all young minds in Jamshedpur to learn about the city’s diverse and rich legacy, she said while extending congratulations to the winners and best wishes for all the participants.
A total of 27 English-medium schools across Jamshedpur participated in the quiz with more than 270 students participating in preliminary rounds. The prelims was conducted by Namit Gupta and the Quizmaster for the final round was Taameir Shahid. The quiz had five rounds covering questions from the life and times of JRD Tata.
Finals of quiz witnessed intense competition from six schools namely Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Little Flower School, Sacred Heart Convent School, JUSCO School, Kadma, Kerala Public School, Mango and Kerala Samajam Model School.
In a tough clash, Kushagra Choudhary and Abhyudaya Singh from Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya emerged Winner while Ahan Roy and Namit Sharma from Little Flower School clinched 1st runners up position. Nidhi Kumari and O.M. Parvati from Sacred Heart Convent School bagged 2nd runners up spot.
The winners and 1st runners up will be taken for a joyride in the Tata Steel Helicopter around the city the next day.
The event was organised by the Centre for Excellence (CFE) and was meticulously supervised by Merlyn Ferdose Anklesaria, Head Event Management & Protocol, Corporate Communications, Tata Steel.
