Punjab FC clinched the AIFF U-15 Junior League title with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Minerva Academy FC in the final played at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on Tuesday. The decisive moment came in the 40th minute when Keisham Bikash Singh found the back of the net, scoring what proved to be the match-winner in a closely contested encounter.
In a game that lived up to the expectations of an all-Punjab final, both sides displayed solid structure and determination. Minerva, known for their attacking prowess, were kept at bay by Punjab’s organised and disciplined defence. Despite creating a few late chances, Minerva couldn’t find the equaliser. Punjab held firm till the final whistle to seal a historic win and lift the national title. This is the second title for Punjab FC in the youth category this year as their U17 team had won the AIFF Elite League defeating Jamshedpur FC in the final held at Guwahati.
