Saraikela–Kharsawan:
The District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner of Saraikela-Kharsawan, Nitish Kumar Singh, conducted the monthly inspection of the EVM–VVPAT warehouse located within the Community Building premises. The inspection aimed to review and strengthen the security arrangements in place for the safe storage of electronic voting machines.
Detailed Review of Security Arrangements
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner thoroughly examined the operational status of CCTV cameras installed at the warehouse. He also reviewed the availability and reliability of the power supply system to ensure uninterrupted surveillance.
Special attention was given to the readiness of fire safety equipment, including fire extinguishers and other emergency response systems. Additional essential tools and infrastructure were also inspected to confirm that all arrangements meet prescribed security standards.
Directions to Security Personnel
The Deputy Commissioner instructed the security personnel deployed at the warehouse to remain vigilant and disciplined while discharging their duties strictly in accordance with established protocols. He emphasized that the safety and integrity of EVMs and VVPAT machines are of utmost importance to ensure transparency and credibility in the electoral process.
Emphasis on Regular Monitoring and Maintenance
Officials concerned were directed to ensure regular testing, continuous monitoring, and timely maintenance of all security mechanisms. The administration reiterated that strict adherence to guidelines is essential to maintain the warehouse’s security at the highest standards.
Deputy Election Officer Surendra Oraon and other departmental staff were also present during the inspection.
The district administration affirmed its commitment to conducting periodic reviews to eliminate any scope for lapses and to maintain robust electoral preparedness.
