Jamshedpur -Tata Steel observes closing function of Ethics Month, 2019

Jamshedpur,: Tata Steel observed the closing function of the Ethics Month 2019 today at the Steelenium Hall inside the Works premises. The theme for the Ethics Month 2019 was “Integrity Matters”. The day marked the end of a month-long calendar of events to commemorate the values of integrity, unity, excellence, responsibility and pioneering, all hallmarks of the Tata Group.

The occasion was graced by the presence of Mr T V Narendran, CEO & MD, Tata Steel,  and Mr R Rabi Prasad, President, Tata Workers’ Union as the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour, respectively. Other dignitaries present were Mr.Chanakya Chaudhary, VP CS, Mr. Sudhansu Pathak, VP Steel Manufacturing, Mr. Sanjiv Paul, VP Safety, Health & Sustainability, Mr. Avneesh Gupta, VP Shared Services, Mr. Uttam Singh VP Iron Making, senior executives of the Company and Members of the Tata Workers’ Union.

Corporate Ethics, each year, commemorates the month of July as the Ethics Month in keeping with the tradition of inculcating ethical practices at the work place.  In all, 38 Town Hall events were organized in 15 divisions across locations. 3000 stakeholders were covered including around 2000 employees, 1500 contract workers, 350 business associates and sizeable numbers from the community as well. Focused Sessions for business associates helped to create awareness on the subject and address their dilemmas.

With regard to centrally organized competitions, the number of finalists (individuals or teams) were as follows: Rangoli -48, Photography-35 , Movie Making-40.  In addition, there were events like Online crossword puzzle, Ethical dilemma- “Ab Kya Karen”, EthiQuest, Leadership Thought, Ethics Zone, Neeti Katha – animated series. In addition, Nukkad Nataks and spot quizzes were organized for creating awareness amongst contract employees.

The celebrations saw Instant recognition at divisional or departmental level, as also Company level reward and recognition processes. Inter – company competitions were also conducted between TIS Group Companies.
