Jamshedpur,: The Clinical Society, the academic wing of Tata Main Hospital (TMH), successfully organized its 63rd Annual Conference from April 2 to April 4, 2026, in Jamshedpur. Established in 1962, the Clinical Society has consistently served as a platform for scientific deliberations, collaboration, and knowledge sharing among medical professionals across TMH and its associated locations, with a focus on enhancing healthcare delivery for the community.
The conference marked the culmination of a year-long series of academic activities conducted under the aegis of the Clinical Society.
The inaugural session was graced by D B Sundara Ramam, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, as the Chief Guest. Senior leadership from Tata Steel also attended the event.
This year’s conference centered around the theme, “Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare – Jumping the Curve,” highlighting the transformative potential of AI in revolutionizing healthcare systems and clinical practices. The scientific programme featured a series of interactive workshops led by eminent experts, including Professor Supten Sarbadhikari, Co-Chair for Task Force on AI in Healthcare at the National Academy of Medical Sciences, and Dr. Suvrankar Dutta, associated with the Centre for Responsible Autonomous Systems in Healthcare (CRASH Lab). Their sessions focused on the integration of artificial intelligence and healthcare technologies, particularly in radiology.
The conference also included guest lectures by Prof. Sarbadhikari and a keynote address titled “The Path Towards Medical Superintelligence in India – The Way Ahead” delivered by Dr. Suvrankar Dutta.
In addition, the Department of Cardiology organized a specialized workshop on complex coronary interventions, conducted by renowned experts Dr. Arun Kalyanasundaram (Promed Hospital, Chennai) and Dr. Kunal Sarkar (Manipal Hospitals, Kolkata).
The event provided a robust platform for research dissemination, featuring over 100 research contributions, including papers, posters, and case studies across diverse medical disciplines. New segments such as occupational health research and the “Medical Shark Tank” added innovative dimensions to the conference, while panel discussions and a medical quiz further enriched the academic engagement.
The conference concluded with a vibrant cultural programme performed by TMH doctors, celebrating camaraderie and reinforcing the spirit of collaboration within the medical fraternity.
