Jamshedpur: A delegation of the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce & Industry, led by President Vijay Anand Moonka, met East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi (IAS) at his office. During the meeting, the delegation raised important issues related to trade, industries, airport development, Sakchi market encroachment, traffic congestion, and civic problems in Jugsalai, seeking immediate solutions.
The delegation included Honorary General Secretary Manav Kedia, Vice President Anil Modi, Advocate Rajeev Agarwal, Abhishek Agarwal Goldie, Secretary Bharat Makani, Binod Sharma, Harsh Bakrewal, and others.
Key issues discussed during the meeting:
Tata Command Area Property Registration – Demand to restart registration of land, houses, and shops in the Tata command area, pending for years.
Airport in Jamshedpur – Lack of an airport is hindering investment and employment opportunities. The delegation urged immediate establishment of an airport.
Encroachment in Sakchi Market – Footpath vendors at BATA Chowk, Jhanda Chowk, and Dalda Line occupy roads, causing inconvenience to customers.
Traffic Congestion – Increasing jams in Jamshedpur require flyover construction and strict regulation of street vendors and auto-rickshaws blocking roads.
Heavy Vehicles on Bistupur Main Road – Despite “No Entry,” heavy vehicles ply on the road, causing accidents. Strict enforcement demanded.
Parking Issues near Sakchi Basant Central – Complaints of staff misbehavior, poor facilities, and waterlogging in the parking zone.
Jugsalai Problems –
Lack of proper parking in the congested commercial area. Request to develop parking space near Jugsalai railway crossing.
No fire brigade facility in the densely populated Jugsalai. Delegation urged permanent placement of a fire tender in the area.
Absence of toilets in Jugsalai market, causing problems for shopkeepers and customers, especially women.
