Jamshedpur, East Singhbhum:
A major security alert was triggered on Tuesday when a propylene gas leak was reported from a stationary tanker near the Jio petrol pump close to Jamshola, on the Baharagora-Baripada National Highway (NH). The incident led to immediate response and swift action by the district administration.
On receiving the information, District Deputy Commissioner Karna Satyarthi ordered urgent safety measures. As a result, the entire affected area has been cordoned off with barricades, and vehicular movement on the Baharagora-Baripada NH has been completely suspended as a precautionary measure.
An official statement from the administration confirmed that a specialized team of gas safety experts has been deployed at the site. The team is working to contain the leak and is continuously monitoring the situation to prevent any escalation. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported so far.
The administration has issued alerts to residents in nearby villages, advising them to remain indoors and stay away from the area. Loudspeakers and social media are being actively used to spread awareness and provide regular updates.
Deputy Commissioner Satyarthi urged citizens to remain calm and avoid falling for rumors or misinformation. He reassured that the administration is fully prepared and is taking every possible step to ensure public safety.
Emergency response units, including disaster management teams and fire brigade personnel, have reached the site and are on standby to respond to any unforeseen developments. Full-scale emergency protocols have been activated.
The district administration has made a public appeal asking people not to visit the site unnecessarily and to strictly follow the safety instructions issued. Additionally, spreading false or misleading information has been strongly discouraged to maintain peace and order during this sensitive situation.
As of now, the situation remains under control, and technical teams continue their efforts to secure the area. The administration is expected to make further announcements based on the evolving situation.
