In view of the Muharram festival, the Jamshedpur district administration is taking all necessary steps to ensure peace and security. As part of these preparations, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Karn Satyaarthi and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mr. Piyush Pandey visited the Sakchi-based Composite Control Room for an inspection. Here, they monitored key intersections and sensitive areas using CCTV cameras to assess the situation. City SP Mr. Kumar Shivashish and other senior officials were also present during the inspection.
Following this, the senior officials conducted a field visit across various parts of the city and inspected the sites where the traditional Akhada processions would take place. The Deputy Commissioner and SSP gave strict instructions to the police and administrative officers on duty to remain vigilant and maintain peace during the proceedings. They also appealed to the public to celebrate Muharram with communal harmony, love, and peace.
During the inspection, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Karn Satyaarthi gave directives to the medical teams, volunteers, and other staff stationed along the procession routes to be fully prepared to handle any emergency situations that may arise. He also emphasized that all concerned departments must stay in continuous contact with the district control room and respond quickly to any information or developments.
Social Media Vigilance
The Deputy Commissioner further clarified that the district administration will be keeping a close watch on social media during the Muharram festival. He stated that any posts that hurt religious sentiments or spread rumors would be dealt with promptly and through strict legal actions. In such cases, the responsible individuals will be identified, and appropriate legal penalties will be imposed.
He also urged the public to refrain from being part of any rumors or provocative activities, as such actions would lead to severe consequences. The administration made it clear that anyone found involved in activities that disturb the peace will face stringent measures.
On this occasion, members from the Municipal Corporation, Police Administration, Peace Committee, Magistrates, and other relevant officials were also present to ensure smooth functioning and law enforcement.
