With the grand Durga Puja celebrations approaching, the district administration of Jamshedpur has intensified its preparations to ensure a safe and peaceful festival. On Tuesday, Deputy Commissioner Karan Satyarthi and Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Pandey conducted a joint inspection of major puja pandals across the city.
The officials reviewed safety measures, cleanliness, power supply arrangements, crowd control, and disaster preparedness in detail. During the visit, they interacted with puja committees and issued necessary instructions for smooth conduct of the festivities.

Prominent areas covered in the inspection included Kagalnagar, Rankini Temple, Rani Kudar, Aam Bagan, Kashidih, Tuiladungri, Golmuri, Agrico Ground, Sidgora, Baridih, Telco, Burmamines, Mango, and Jugsalai.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that all pandals must be equipped with fire safety gear, sand and water buckets, primary medical kits, and CCTV cameras. He also stressed proper barricading, entry and exit routes, and the deployment of enough volunteers for crowd management. Parking spaces must be clearly marked to avoid traffic congestion. Additionally, waterlogging prevention measures such as pumping machines and drainage systems should be in place.
“Durga Puja is not just a religious event, but a celebration of social harmony. Every puja committee must play an active role in maintaining peace and cooperation with administration,” DC Karan Satyarthi stated.
SSP Piyush Pandey shared details of the planned deployment of police personnel, patrolling units, and traffic control mechanisms. He urged organizers to fully cooperate with law enforcement to ensure public safety.
The inspection team included City SP Kumar Shivashish, ADM (Law & Order) Bhagirath Prasad, JNAC Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar, DTO Dhananjay, Dhalbhum SDM Chandrajeet Singh, and Traffic DSP Neeraj, along with respective local police station in-charges and other senior administrative officials.
The administration has made it clear that non-compliance with safety protocols will not be tolerated, and necessary action will be taken against violators.
This proactive approach by the district administration underscores its commitment to ensuring a safe, clean, and joyous Durga Puja for the citizens of Jamshedpur.
