Jamshedpur, Tata Steel hosted the visit of 13 delegates from CII Water Mission for Iron & Steel Industry at its Jamshedpur plant from February 19-20, 2020. The objective of the Water Mission is to provide an opportunity to industry members to gain insights into various facets of Holistic Water and Waste Water Management and learn and adopt the best practices.
Mr Sanjiv Paul, VP (Safety, Health & Sustainability) Tata Steel, and Mr Avneesh Gupta, VP (TQM & Shared Services), Tata Steel, graced the opening meeting on February 19, 2020 where presentations were made to the visiting delegates on the water management initiatives undertaken at Tata Steel.
The two-day long visit concluded with master classes on subjects like strategies to reduce specific water consumption, Innovative Technologies for waste water management & managing toxicity in biological wastewater management.
It may be noted that Tata Steel Jamshedpur was conferred with “CII Water Awards for Excellence in Water Management” in 2017 for their notable initiatives on water resource management.
