Jamshedpur / Adityapur: There is major relief in store for passengers traveling from Adityapur Railway Station, under the Chakradharpur Division of the South Eastern Railway (SER). The long-standing issue of train delays caused by the time-consuming process of refilling water in train coaches is about to be resolved permanently.

Tatanagar Area Manager Sameer Gaurav informed that the connection work for the state-of-the-art ‘Quick Watering System’ at Adityapur Station has been successfully completed, and its formal operation will commence within the next one or two days.
What is the ‘Quick Watering System’ and How Does it Work?
The Area Manager explained that earlier, water was filled into train coaches manually using conventional pumps and overhead tanks. Due to this slow, traditional process, trains had to be halted at the station for extended periods, leading to schedule delays.
High-Pressure Water Hydrants: Under the new system, high-pressure water hydrants have been installed along Platform Numbers 1 and 2.
Massive Time Saving: Instead of taking up substantial time, the entire train’s water tanks can now be refilled simultaneously in just a matter of minutes.
Key Benefit: “The Quick Watering System will drastically reduce detention time at platforms, ensuring punctual train operations and a seamless travel experience for passengers.”
Direct Benefit to Passengers of 4 Major Trains
Since coaching trains currently operate exclusively from Platforms 1 and 2, the hydrants have been activated on these platforms in the initial phase. The facility will immediately benefit passengers traveling on four prominent origin trains from Adityapur:
Adityapur – Hatia MEMU
Adityapur – Dhanbad Swarnarekha Express
Adityapur – Asansol Intercity Express
Weekly Adityapur – Visakhapatnam Express

Adityapur Being Developed as an ‘Auxiliary Terminal’ for Tatanagar
Shedding light on future action plans, Sameer Gaurav highlighted that to alleviate the immense operational pressure and passenger congestion at Tatanagar Junction, Adityapur is being rapidly developed as an ‘Auxiliary Terminal’.
In the upcoming phases, the platform shed area at Adityapur Station will be expanded significantly. Additionally, construction work for a brand-new Foot Overbridge (FOB) will commence soon to ensure safe and convenient passenger movement across platforms.
