The spirit of Christmas is the spirit of love, generosity and goodness. A season not only of rejoicing but also of reflection, a season marked by sharing and caring. Christmas celebrations were held on 22nd December 2023 at Loyola with great joy and festivity. The students of the senior section put up a meaningful and merry musical that gave a powerful message of Christmas. It was a colourful event with a medley of Christmas carols, dance and the Nativity Play.
The programme commenced with a welcome address. The Nativity Scene, synonymous to Christmas, was enacted with a beautifully done manger in the background, depicting the events of the birth of Christ, which interspersed with melodious carols sung by the choir. The show proceeded with a vibrant dance performance which was in continuity with the play.
The Christmas message was delivered by Fr. Rector. He congratulated the students on their brilliant performance, at the same time drawing their focus on the need to imbibe the values of sharing and caring and follow the path of brotherhood and humanity. He also spoke of the significance of the Christmas star and said the star leads us to God. The Principal Fr. Vinod Fernandes delivered the vote of thanks. What added to the festive cheer was the entry of Santa Claus as students cheered on to express their excitement. The event turned out to be a grand success.It was indeed a frenzied and joyous one.
