Jamshedpur: Tata Steel’s Sports Department organised Inter Divisional Handball Tournament from November 22 to 24 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. Captain Amitabh, Head Skill Development, Tata Steel Foundation graced the occasion as Chief Guest with Vibhuti D Adesara, Head Sports (Training Centres and Events) as Guest of Honour during the prize distribution ceremony.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from 16 Units of Tata Steel. More than 192 participants showcased their talent in this year’s competition.
In a display of exceptional skill and sportsmanship, team of West Bokaro emerged as the Winner, whereas team of Steel Manufacturing bagged the runner’s up position. Iron Making team emerged as the 2nd runner’s up in this tournament.
To ensure fair play and adherence to the rules, the tournament benefited from the expertise of renowned technical officials, including Firoze Khan, Hassan Imam Mallick, Mohammad Maaz, MD Sarfaraz Nawaz, Saifuddin, Afnan Ul Hassan, Faisal Iqbal Khan, Vishal Kumar, Satyam Kumar, Sourav Mahato, Md. Sultan Khan, Amit Tiwary and Md. Neyaz performed their roles admirably.
Tata Steel’s commitment to promote sports and fostering a spirit of camaraderie among its workforce was evident throughout the tournament. The event provided an excellent platform for employees to showcase their skills in handball and foster a healthy competitive spirit.
