Acting on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Mr. Nitish Kumar Singh, the district mining department launched a surprise inspection drive on Friday evening in the Kandra police station area, specifically near Kandra Bazaar on the Chowka–Kandra Road.
During the operation, the team seized two Hyva trucks involved in the illegal transportation of sand without valid permits or documentation. The vehicles were caught red-handed transporting sand in violation of mining and transport regulations.
Following the seizure, an FIR has been registered at Kandra Police Station, and further legal action is underway as per the provisions of mining laws.
The district administration reiterated its firm stance against illegal mining and unauthorized mineral transport in the region. Deputy Commissioner Singh has directed continued surprise inspections and strict enforcement measures across the district to curb such illegal activities.
Officials emphasized that the drive is part of an ongoing campaign to clamp down on the sand mafia and discourage the exploitation of natural resources. The mining department has also urged the public to come forward with any information regarding illegal sand transport or mining in their areas.
This latest action has sent a strong message to violators and demonstrates the administration’s commitment to maintaining environmental and legal compliance.
