Jamshedpur News:Tata Steel Adventure Foundation hosts the first-ever International Tata Steel Sport Climbing Championship 2024
Jamshedpur: The much-anticipated 4th edition of the Tata Steel Sport Climbing Championship was inaugurated at the Tata Steel Adventure Foundation, JRD Tata Sports Complex. This is set to take place from January 26-29, 2024 and is being hosted by the Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF).
Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President (Corporate Service),Tata Steel graced the occasion as the Chief Guest along with Ujjal Chakraborti, Managing Director, Jamshedpur Continuous Annealing & Processing Company Private Limited (JCAPCPL) who was the Guest of Honour. The mascot of Tata Steel Sport Climbing Championship ‘ARIA’ was also introduced during the opening ceremony.
The inauguration ceremony marked a spectacular blend of Republic Day celebrations and the opening of the Tata Steel Sport Climbing Championship 2024.
This championship, to be held at the TSAF Sport Climbing Arena within the JRD Tata Sports Complex, promises to be a thrilling spectacle with the participation of both national and international athletes.
A record-breaking number of over 300 athletes have enthusiastically registered for the championship, making it one of India’s largest climbing events. The inclusion of athletes from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Nepal alongside their Indian counterparts adds an exciting international dimension to the competition.
Featuring competitions in all three formats of sport climbing: Speed Climbing, Lead Climbing, and Bouldering, the championship includes diverse categories such as Kids, Youth A, Youth B, Youth C, Youth D, and Open, catering to both male and female participants.
Over 30 officials from India and abroad have gathered for the championship, underlining its growing prominence on the international climbing circuit. The TSAF Sport Climbing Arena stands out as one of the premier climbing venues in India, boasting state-of-the-art infrastructure that enhances the overall competition experience. Athletes eagerly await this championship all year round, recognizing it as India’s foremost climbing event.
