Jamshedpur, : Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) on Thursday expressed grief over the untimely death of four students of Carmel Junior College in a road accident on Marine Drive under Sonari police station limit here in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday
The victims, who were all Class 12 (Commerce) students of Carmel Junior College of Sonari, were killed in a tragic road accident that occurred in the early hours today at around 2:30 am on Sonari Marine Drive.
Expressing its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, SCCI President Manav Kedia in a statement said the victims included the daughter of Jharkhand Rural Development Minister Deepika Pandey Singh.
The other victims were identified as Sarthak Agarwal, son of Shri Chetan Agarwal; Naman Gupta, son of Rajeev Gupta and Vanshika Khandelwal, daughter of Pankaj Khandelwal.
Kedia said that this heart-wrenching road accident is an extremely sad and shocking incident for the entire city of Jamshedpur. He said that the untimely demise of four bright students at such a young age is extremely painful.
He said that the Chamber family stands with the grief-stricken families of the deceased students in this hour of sorrow and pray the almighty to grant peace to the departed souls and give strength to their family members to bear this immense loss.
The car they were travelling on was completely damaged after it rammed into a stationary truck parked on the roadside owing to breakdown.
On being informed of the incident, police personnel from Sonari police station rushed to the spot and retrived the mangled bodies using gas cutter.
The bodies were sent to MGM Hospital for post-mortem.
