Jamshedpur, Oct 7 (BJNN) Centre for Bharatiya Marketing and Development (CBMD), a wing of Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM), is all set to organize a week-long Swadeshi mela in an attempt to promote Swadeshi products at Gopal Maidan, Bistupur here from tomorrow, a senior functionary of CBMD on Tuesday said.
The aim of organizing the Swadeshi mela was to strengthen and promote domestic industries and services and develop a strong and stable economy of the country, which would become a model for the world, said Convenor of the fair Ashok Goyal at a press conference here.

Goyal said the fair would be inaugurated by former Union Minister Arjun Munda on Wednesday.
Tata Steel Vice-President (Corporate Services) D B Sundara Ramam, BJP MLA Purnima Sahu and Secretary Jharkhand State Cricket Association Saurabh Tiwary, a former Team India member, among other, will take part in the inaugural function, Goyal said.
He said SJM strives to safeguard country’s economic security and preserve its cultural identity while promoting its rich heritage to prevent cultural pollution.
Swadeshi mela, which began with 100 stalls in 2000, gained popularity since then as artisans and business community from across the country were stumbling to book their stall in the fair, which will be held from 8th to 16th October, he said.
Over 300 stalls have been set up in the fair as artisans from across the country including Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Bihar will take part in the event.
Swadeshi mela is not just an event for sale of goods or a trade fair but also a platform to exchange ideas and medium to promote the ideology of Swadeshi, Goyal added.
