
Jamshedpur,: The quarter-finals of the 5th Hockey India Senior Men Inter-Department National Championship 2025, hosted at the Naval Tata Hockey Academy (NTHA), Jamshedpur, delivered a thrilling display of high-octane hockey and competitive spirit. The day was filled with spectacular goals, fierce rivalries, and edge-of-the-seat finishes, keeping the crowd on its feet throughout.
The day’s proceedings were graced by distinguished guests — Mr. Shaba Alam Ansari (IFS, DFO, Jamshedpur), Mr. Arvind Kumar Sinha (Chief Security & Brand Protection, Tata Steel), Mr. Sanjay Singh (Chairman, Sports Advisory Committee, Tata Steel), and Mr. Dhirendra Singh Munda (Factory Inspector, Jamshedpur). Their presence added prestige to the event, motivating the players with their encouraging words and appreciation for their exemplary performances.
The standout moment of the day came during the third quarter-final, where a dramatic sudden-death shootout had spectators holding their breath. It was Devindar Walmiki of the Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) who ultimately sealed victory with the decisive shootout goal — a testament to his nerves of steel and experience on the field
