Jamshedpur,: The 9th edition of Tata Steel Jamshedpur Half Marathon 2024 was successfully organised at the JRD Tata Sports Complex today. The theme for this year was “Run for Fitness, Run for Fun”.
The Half Marathon and other Run categories were flagged off by Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President Corporate Services and Ruchi Narendran. T V Narendran, CEO & Managing Director, Tata Steel participated in the 10-KM Run boosting the morale of runners and sending a message of fitness amongst citizens of Jamshedpur. Uttam Singh, Vice President Operations, Tata Steel Meramandali also participated in the Half Marathon category, which was organised in Jamshedpur for the first time.
Probal Ghosh, Vice President One Shared Services, Tata Steel, Mukul Vinayak Choudhary, Chief Sports, Tata Steel along with Sanjeev Kumar Choudhary, President Tata Workers’ Union (TWU) and other dignitaries graced the occasion.
5027 people participated in the run across three competition categories – Half Marathon,10-KM & 5-KM and a non-competitive 2-KM Fun Run. This edition witnessed participation from states, namely, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Bihar, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Gujarat
This time too, the Run was facilitated by the Pacers to help runners achieve their personal best run time as practised in major marathons and running events.
This edition of the Run also witnessed an expo at JRD Tata Sports Complex on November 22-23. Linde and Air water India were the associate partner for the run. Westside, Ginger, Fast&up and Groats associated as style, hospitality, energy and food & beverage partner for the run. The event was also supported by 10 brands who helped to make this event a success one.
Jamshedpur Run-a-thon is a corporate event of Tata Steel which is organised every year to instil the sense of fitness among the citizens of Jamshedpur.
