The Founder and Chairman of RSB group, a fast growing global engineering organization, Rabindra Kumar Behera on Friday said the company has taken initiative to meet the 45% carbon emission cut target by 2030.
We are working to make our plants across the country energy-efficient and how to utilize renewable energy more to reduce carbon footprint and minimize use of fossil fuel, Behera, who was recently recognized with Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa) award for his outstanding contributions to industry, entrepreneurship and nation-building from President of India Droupadi Murmu during her recent visit to National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur.

To a query, Chairman of RSB group, which majorly produce components of commercial vehicle and only 10% passenger vehicle, admitted the slown down in automobile sector for last couple of years but the company sustained in the market as it was introducing new products.
About 50% tariff imposed by US, Behera said Indian export was affected by 25% due to it and domestic industries evaluating possibilities in new market in Europe and Asian countries to compensate the loss.
As we have the advantage of having a plant in Mexico, Behera said RSB was expanding one plant there and export the products.
Behera hailed the new labor code of the government to achieve the target of Vikshit Bharat.
Interacting with newsmen here, Behera cautioned that we can not sustain unless adequate steps were taken to contain increasing temperature of the climate, which rose up to 1.5 degree since pre-industrial era and may touch 3 degree mark in the country in the days to come.
He apprehended that 3.5 billion people across the world would be affected by global warming unless immediate steps were taken to address global warming issue.
Referring to recent floods in parts of country including Northern states, super-cyclone etc, Behera said the environment changes was taking place because we do not care about the climate.
On RSB’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) front, he said the focus of the group was on empowerment of tribal women, education of children and healthcare sector.
Behera said RSB has been carrying out various initiative to improve the standard of life around its 18 operational areas across East, West, South and North Zone of the country.

We have adopted a village around our plant in Pune and providing basic amenities such as water, electricity, education and healthcare, besides agriculture sector.
Similarly, we have developed five Aganwadi centres in rural pockets of Jharkhand including in the vicinity of its mother plant in Jamshedpur, Behera said.
Behera said the company was establishing a 1000-bed hospital in Adityapur in Jharkhand’s Seraikela-Kharswan district.
In the first phase, the hospital will operate with 500-bed capacity, which will be increased further in next phase.
The hospital was likely to operate from this mid-year, Behera said while refusing to provide details.
RSB is a fast growing global engineering organization with business interest ranging from design to manufacturing of aggregates and system related to commercial vehicles, passenger cars, construction and farm equipments.
Established in 1973, the RSB group has now 18 plants in India and abroad including in Pune, Lucknow, Dharwad, Chennai, Pantnagar, Cuttack, Homer and Merxico (USA).
